LGBTQ2S+ Affirming Counselling
Safe, supportive, and identity-affirming therapy for queer, trans, and questioning individuals
At Wong Counselling, we offer a warm, validating, and culturally-humble space for LGBTQ2S+ clients to explore identity, relationships, mental health concerns, and life transitions. Our clinicians are trained in affirming, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional care, with deep experience supporting clients through coming-out journeys, gender exploration, minority stress, relationship challenges, and navigating unsupportive family, cultural, or workplace environments.
Whether you are exploring your gender identity, building healthy relationships, recovering from past trauma, or seeking a therapist who truly understands LGBTQ2S+ lived experiences — you are welcome here.

FAQ
1. Is LGBTQ2S+ affirming counselling only for people who are “out”?
No. Many clients come to therapy while questioning or while keeping their identity private. Therapy meets you exactly where you are.
2. Do you write letters for gender-affirming medical care?
Yes — our clinicians can provide supporting letters/reports for HRT, surgery readiness, school/work accommodations, and name/gender marker changes (depending on provincial regulations).
3. Is this counselling safe for trans and non-binary clients?
Yes. We follow WPATH-aligned, gender-affirming, trauma-informed practices that respect your autonomy and identity.
4. Can I bring relationship or sexuality questions to therapy?
Absolutely. We welcome discussions around queer relationships, poly/ENM dynamics, kink awareness, sexual wellbeing, and intimacy concerns.
5. What if my family or culture is not supportive?
We specialize in navigating cultural, religious, and intergenerational conflict, especially for clients from Asian, immigrant, and faith-based communities.
6. Is this service covered by insurance?
Yes — sessions with Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Clinical Counsellors may be covered depending on your plan.
