Unexpected loss, traumatic experiences, or sudden life changes can leave lasting emotional imprints. Whether through death of a loved one, relationship loss, cultural displacement, or other life transitions, counselling helps clients process grief, integrate trauma memories, and rebuild meaning after change or loss. Some common symptoms include:

  2. Avoidance of reminders of the loss or trauma

  3. Emotional numbness, shock, disbelief, or guilt

  4. Sudden waves of sadness, anger, or panic without clear triggers

  5. Trouble sleeping, hyper-vigilance, exaggerated startle response

  6. Difficulty concentrating or completing daily tasks

  7. Withdrawal from friends, family, or activities

  8. Physical symptoms (tight chest, nausea, muscle aches) linked to stress
