Depression Counselling

Compassionate, evidence-based support to help you regain clarity, steadiness, and hope.

Depression can feel heavy, isolating, and overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. At Wong Counselling & Psychotherapy, we provide trauma-informed, evidence-based depression treatment tailored to your lived experience. Whether you’re struggling with persistent low mood, emotional numbness, burnout, fatigue, racing thoughts, or loss of motivation, we help you understand what’s happening, rebuild coping capacity, and reconnect with meaning and fulfillment in your life.

Our therapists use CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches, and nervous-system stabilization to help you break out of depressive loops, address underlying causes, and create sustainable change without judgment or pressure.

FAQ

Is depression treatable?

Yes. Evidence-based therapies show strong outcomes for many forms of depression, including chronic, trauma-related, seasonal, and postpartum depression.

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. Many clients begin counselling before formally receiving a diagnosis. We can support you at any stage.

Is therapy or medication better for depression?

Both can be effective. Many clients benefit from therapy alone, while others combine therapy with medication. We collaborate with your physician or psychiatrist if you choose that route.

How long does depression therapy take?

It depends on intensity and life circumstances. Many clients notice improvement within 6–10 sessions, while deeper work may take longer.

Does depression counselling help with burnout or chronic stress?

Yes. Burnout and depression can overlap, and therapy can help clarify what you’re experiencing and create a recovery plan.
